HIDROTROPISMO (2010)
I have always found the representation of the contours of water on maps to be aesthetically pleasing. For this series, I traced the outlines of rivers, lakes, dams, canals from the maps I used in traveling to eight distinct regions in 2010. I transferred these drawings onto copper plates with aquatint and dry-point techniques. I printed 8 plates in different greens, blues and grays (different colors of water). I then cut the prints and tried to create fluid, abstract compositions.
